Today is THE BIG day and I thought what better time than now to share these really fun photos I got to take of Katherine and Paul, from last fall, in New York City!
This session was a last minute idea… and by last minute I mean it was planned in less than 24 hours! I was already taking a trip to the city for a photography workshop and had the idea… gosh wouldn’t it be cool to photograph my couple in their own environment, in their new home? So I sent Katharine a DM on Instagram and she immediately responded with excitement. She said, I’ll go shopping today and get some outfits and we are good to go! YAS, spontaneity… that’s my kind of couple!
So we landed (my past second shooter Caitlin and I), took a cab into Brooklyn, threw our luggage into their apartment and headed out to shoot around the city. I can’t tell you how much fun I have shooting in a brand new place. Some photographers I know love to go and scope out spots beforehand and make a plan of where they will photograph and try to plan for the lighting etc… I truly think sometimes I work best just being thrown into things and letting my creativity take off on it’s own.
Anyway, enough chatter. Check out these fun photos from one of my favorite cities! Also, make sure to be checking instagram for some sneak peeks from their wedding today! It’s at one of my favorite venues (Jorgensen Farms)… and I am so excited to see a few of of my past #kismetcouples there too! It’s going to a great day.
Have a great weekend ya’ll!
